I purchased this book and read the first 35 pages. Besides the fact that it is written in parables, difficult to understand, the biggest turn off was when Abraham is talking about the source and states, “what you humans call God.” I have read many books during the past 6 months and the most enlightening are those by Joel Osteen. What a wonderful man. And a recent read was, The Secret, things of God. It is the Secret from a christian point of view and is written by Dr. Henry Cloud. That was a great book as well. There just seems to be a problem when all of those books preach, ask the universe. We should all be asking God.

New age space cadet nonsense. Unbelievably bad writing, bad reasoning and pseudo-philosophy. I regret wasting the time I spent typing this comment, much less reading this POS.

Quite frankly, when I bought the book, I had mixed feelings about it, esp. because of these “high ratings” it has received, since they all sounded more or less alike and seem to be more a publicity stunt than anything else.
I doubt I was wrong, the book is overrated esp. judging from these “comments”. If you have faith that guides you, why do you need other people explain it to you even more? Why not rest in your faith and trust in God’s guidance to deal with any problem that may present to you?
I find it highly questionable when people tell me how to feel about a situation they’ve personally never been involved with.
Do I trust that these authors have a gay son, terminal cancer and other things they have “solutions” for? As long as they don’t talk out of experience, it is nothing but a hollow shell with “prescriptions” that may not even work.
Read it, make up your own mind. I’ve made up mine – and I think it is bad and just exploiting this new agey Christianism that looks for quick fix.

This book is a waste of money and the people who have rated it high have been asked to do so through one of their seminars or something. I felt as though through the whole book they just want you to sign up for one of their seminars or buy another book or tape. Very simple pracical advice that was repeated over and over again through others stories. I feel ripped off as i was just wanting something to help me feel more positive asn this book made me feel like the whole world is just trying to make a buck for themselves not really trying to help others with insight. He starts the book with how he read some book on how to get rich and he never could find the secret think he knows the secret well there you have his whole belief on how to manipulate others in the mean time getting rich. I am going back to Pema Chodron

I read all previous Hicks books and have always had second thoughts about the accuracy and honesty of the material presented to the reader… this one is plain and simple a complete waste of time, and it is the LAST one I read.
It all reads nice in theory, positive thoughts and positive feelings to achieve all your heart desires; however, the whole world and beyond would agree with me that things are not as simple as the book claims them to be. for example, to claim that anything bad happening to you is YOUR OWN CREATION (in the conscious and/or subconcious level) is just a slap in the face. Would you tell the kids in the poorest regions of Africa who are dying of disease and starvation that THEY CAUSED THEIR PHYSICAL REALITY and that all they have to do to snap out of it is to CHANGE THEIR THOUGHTS AND ALIGN THEIR FEELINGS AND EMOTIONS TO SOURCE ENERGY??? Not so simple, not at all.
I have tried with all my heart and all my soul to maintain a receptive heart and an open mind while reading this (and all the others) book, but at some point it appears clear to me that the authors are feeding you with ideas YOU WANT and NEED to hear given your specific circumstance. I applaud their efforts in trying to help people live rich, happy, successful and meaningful lives, but you also have to realize that they do so “for profit.”
